Progress toward a proposed capital campaign for Camp Arrowhead was made on August 22, when the Discernment Committee met to finalize plans to present the proposed projects and receive feedback from members of the diocesan and camp communities.
Approved by Diocesan Council, which has contracted with the Episcopal Church Foundation as consultants, the Discernment phase is the first phase of the process, which we hope will lead to a capital campaign. The committee set meeting dates in New Castle and Kent counties on September 16 and at Camp Arrowhead in Sussex County on September 17. Details, including the time of each meeting, will be announced soon. A second set of meetings will be held in the three counties on October 21 and 22.
The needs presented to council include a new, three-season dining hall to replace the present screened hall, good only for summer camping; a new bathhouse to accommodate an expanding camper enrollment; and a link to connect the camp with the county sewer system.
Delaware Episcopalians are invited to attend one meeting to provide input into the plans for Camp Arrowhead.
