Prayer for Special Convention
Lay delegates and clergy of the diocese will gather during the Special Convention at St. Anne’s School in Middletown for the purpose of seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit and discerning God’s will in the election of the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Delaware.
While Convention is in session, members of Anamchara Fellowship and the Daughters of the King will pray that the candidates, clergy, and delegates will be inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit. The designated prayer room will be in another part of St. Anne’s School removed from the Convention area. While the “pray-ers” will be holding all involved in prayer from the Convention site, others can pray from where ever they may be. Please include the Special Convention, and those involved, in your prayers.
The Order of the Daughters of the King includes women, lay and ordained, who desire a closer walk with the Lord, are strengthened through the discipline of a Rule of Life and supported by mutual companionship. They take vows to uphold the two Rules of the Order: the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. Members of the Holy Spirit chapter from Christ Church, Dover, will participate in the prayer vigil for the Special Convention.
Founded in the tradition of the Episcopal Church, with a Celtic spirit, Anamchara Fellowship is canonically recognized by the House of Bishops’ Committee on the Religious Life. Anamchara is an inclusive community, welcoming men and women, clergy and lay, married, single, or partners in a committed relationship. Members are bound by common ideals and a commitment to prayer and service. Ministries primarily focus on retreats and quiet days, pastoral care, intercessory prayer and spiritual direction.
