Thomas said, “Jesus, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
As we journey onward in the search for our 11th bishop to join our holy endeavor, together, we may feel Thomas’s desire for good, orderly direction. Well, we are moving along the process, keeping open to the Spirit’s work alongside our work. The Search Committee has been tireless and diligent in their movement toward the announcement of the slate of candidates. It is now our plan to receive these names from the Search Committee and to introduce the candidates for prayerful consideration for our 11th bishop to the Diocese of Delaware.
The announcement for the slate of candidates will be made on Saturday, May 6, 12 noon! This information will be available via a Special Edition of The Net and placed on the diocesan website, www.dioceseofdelaware.net. A banner across the top of the diocesan website will direct you to the Bishop Search page which will include the candidates, the Petition Process, and the remaining timeline. You may also click on ‘Bishop Search’ in the navigation bar.
The Petition Process will be opened on the diocesan website at the same time of announcement and open until Saturday, May 13, 12 noon.
So, as Jesus responded to Thomas, I ask for your prayers alongside all who have been called by your diocese to this holy work – “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Walking in this ever present grace, all will be well … WE will be well
The Rev. Paul Gennett, Jr.
President of The Standing Committee
