Convention Guidebook
241st Annual Convention
Goals:
The goal of the 88-page Convention Guidebook was to enhance the experience of attendees at the 241st Annual Convention by providing a clear, cohesive, and user-friendly resource for navigating the two-day event. Designed to guide participants through convention business, elections, workshops, worship, and diocesan information, the guidebook consolidated all essential materials into a single publication, eliminating the need for multiple handouts while remaining both practical and engaging.
The design was intentionally rooted in the visual and theological identity of this convention. The cover was created using a detail from the diocesan seal, extracted from a photograph of the woodwork on the bishop’s chair at one of the diocese’s smaller parishes, transforming a symbolic and locally rooted element into a unifying visual mark for the gathering. Throughout the publication, the graphics and imagery reflected the convention’s scripture theme, “I am the vine; you are the branches…,” reinforcing the message. A green leaf motif—drawn from the icon representing the bishop’s mission priorities—was incorporated as a recurring visual element, echoing themes emphasized in the bishop’s address and throughout the convention.
Also, the guidebook is provided in a digital flipbook format for the convenience of those who watch the convention via livestream.
Audience: The intended audience for the guidebook includes all members, attendees, and staff of the convention. Additionally, it serves as a valuable resource at the diocesan office for future reference and use.
