Wow — we did not expect this incredible response! We’re both surprised and grateful to share that we’ve officially reached our capacity for our picnic at the Blue Rocks Game — Holy Obi-Wan Kenobi!

But wait! We’ve Got an Alternative Seating Option Idea!
Our Parish Picnic at the Blue Rocks Game on June 20 at 6:00 p.m. has officially sold out — we’re amazed and grateful for the enthusiastic response! But if you weren’t able to grab a ticket in time, there is another way to be part of the fun.
Alternative Seating Option:
- A few folks have already purchased individual tickets in Section A (stadium-type seating), which is located next to the Off-Centered Fan Deck — the very spot where our ECD picnic will take place.
- Top right, top row seats in Section A are closest to the fan deck picnic area.
- Bottom row seats are closer to the field for better game views.
- Currently, only a few tickets in this section have been sold, and none yet in the top right-hand corner — so act quickly if you are interested.
- Purchase your tickets directly from the Blue Rocks (not through outside resale sites). Purchase Blue Rocks tickets here.
- 🚨 Important Note: Tickets purchased in Section A do not include access to the picnic area or picnic food. However, there are plenty of great food vendors in the surrounding area, so you won’t go hungry. Picnic begins at 6:30, so come early and we can break bread at the same time.
- Check out the graphics below to see exactly where the ECD picnic area and Section A are located — plus which seats are closest.
- You’ll still be part of the fun! With a Section A ticket, you can:
- Watch Bishop Brown throw out the first pitch at 6:20(ish)
- Enjoy the Star Wars-themed evening
- Enjoy the game
- Watch the post-game fireworks
- And hang near other Episcopal Church in Delaware picnic-goers — maybe even start your own ECD cheer squad!

Get ready for an out-of-this-galaxy evening as we gather for a fun-filled night of baseball, fellowship, food, and fireworks at Blue Rocks Star Wars Night! This isn’t just any baseball game — it’s a home run of a diocesan community event with a little intergalactic flair. Whether you’re a die-hard baseball fan, a Star Wars enthusiast, or just in it for the fellowship, food, and fireworks, this is a night you won’t want to miss!
This is also the perfect opportunity to bring your church community together! Gather a group from your parish — families, youth groups, choir members, friends — and make it a night of fellowship, fun, and connection. Let’s fill the stands with Episcopal spirit!
⚾ HERE’S WHAT’S IN STORE:
🌭 Picnic at the Dogfish Head Off-Center Fan Deck, 6–7:30pm – Chow down on ballpark favorites (food, soda, water included in ticket price) with fellow Episcopalians from across the state and friends old and new. Because nothing says community like a hot dog and a side of fellowship!
⚾ Bishop’s First Pitch, 6:20pm – Watch as our very own Bishop Brown steps up to the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch. Will it be a strike? Will the Force be with him? There’s only one way to find out!
📣 Our Diocese is in the Game! – Be there as we celebrate the debut of our brand-new diocesan outfield sign, a visible reminder that faith and fellowship belong everywhere — even at the ballpark!
🌌 A Star Wars-Themed Ballgame – Embrace the night’s theme — you never know who (or what) might show up!
🎇 Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular – Stay after the final inning for a dazzling fireworks show that will light up the night sky — no Death Star required!
This event is perfect for anyone looking for a a fun night out with their diocesan/church community. So grab your lightsaber (or foam finger), bring your best ballpark spirit, and join us for an unforgettable evening at the ballgame!
Even if you don’t know a fastball from a foul ball, this night is for you! Come for the fellowship, the food, the fireworks — and a whole lot of fun!
