Jesse’s Gift is a true story written by the Rev. James M. Bimbi. It tells the narrative of what he experienced a few days prior to Christmas Eve services.

 

While the story took place when he was serving a parish in Colorado, Fr. Jim told this account at every Christmas Eve service while serving at St. James Episcopal Church in Delaware (17 years). He never knew he would be repeating this practice every year, but the youth and adults alike asked for this to be a tradition, and so it was. Now that he has retired from St. James, he has agreed to pen the story and share it with the diocese for publication.

 

It was published in the Delaware Communion on December 1, 2022, along with drawings from a few St. James parishioners.
