A Blessed Thanksgiving

to everyone!

As we enter this season of gratitude, we give thanks for you — our faithful lay leaders, clergy, and congregations across Delaware. Your ministry, your generosity of spirit, and your steady witness to the love of Jesus continue to bless our diocese in countless ways.

This Thanksgiving, may you find moments of rest, joy, and connection. Know that you are held in our prayers, and that we remain grateful to walk this journey of faith together.

Wishing you the gift of faith and

the blessing of hope this Thanksgiving,

Bishop Brown and the Mission Support Team

NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY

Friday, November 28

This year’s National Native American Heritage Day is observed on November 28, the day after Thanksgiving. Native Americans are accorded special honor on this day, and their rich cultures, accomplishments, contributions, and heritage are celebrated. The history of America begins with Native Americans, and the bald eagle on the U.S. shield is an Iroquois symbol.

“Do not wrong or hate your neighbor for it is not he that you wrong but yourself.”

– Proverb of the Pima

The Indigenous People of Delaware

There were two tribes in Delaware at the first contact with European explorers and both remain active today – the Lenape Tribe and the Nanticoke Tribe.
