A note from Bishop Brown:
This year, Presiding Bishop SeanRowe has invited dioceses, where possible, to host a simple vigil on the Monday of Holy Week. The purpose is to gather in prayer during a time of significant national strife, bearing witness to our shared conviction that Christians are called to come together and bridge the divides that so often separate us.
In Delaware, I will officiate our vigil on Holy Monday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church. The vigil will be offered both in person and via livestream (www.delaware.church) and will follow the same pattern and prayers offered by the presiding bishop for use across the Church. I am grateful to the Rev. Russ Bohner and the people of St. Anne’s for their generous hospitality.
Holy Week is already a time of deep devotion and prayer in our parishes, and I recognize that this diocesan vigil adds to an already full liturgical calendar. Even so, our souls are strengthened and expanded through the prayers we offer. Whether in person or online, I hope you will be able to join in this moment of shared worship, song, and devotion.
