The Creation: Behold I am doing a new thing video was produced by the Episcopal Church in Delaware and debuted at the beginning of the 238th Annual Convention on November 18, 2022. While the video was created to be a timeless piece and intended for all audiences far and wide, its title and content reflected the theme of the convention, Behold I am doing a new thing  — Isaiah 43:19, and first seen by members of convention.

Since it’s debut, the video has been posted and shared on social media channels, appeared in eNewsletters, and posted to websites. The next push of this video will be during The Episcopal Church’s Season of Creation in 2023.

The narrator, organist, pianist, choir, and percussionist (gong) are all members of the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew, a multi-racial parish in the diocese. All original images were taken by Cynde Bimbi, diocesan photographer, and Bob Gilley, a member of St. Thomas’ Parish. In addition, a few licensed/purchased images were used when necessary.

The poem in the video is called, The Creation, and comes from God’s Trombones by James Weldon Johnson, who wrote the lyrics to Lift Every Voice and Sing.
