Begin Your Formation Journey
Flexible online theological education for everyone in the Episcopal Church in Delaware wanting to explore their lifelong learning and vocation call.
Graduates from the Stevenson School
I was received into the Episcopal Church in 1996, and participated in the diocesan Cursillo movement in the latter half of the 1990s. St. Martha's has been my spiritual home where I have served: on vestry three times, as Senior Warden and Secretary; on transition and search teams; and as a Lay Worship Leader, Eucharistic Visitor, Eucharistic Minister, Reader and — rarely — as Lay Preacher. My deepest thanks to Rector Ria Pretti, the vestry, and the people of St. Martha's for their support.

I had been praying for a way to become more involved and the opportunity for the classes presented itself. I was thrilled and began to pray about it. I felt called to begin the journey towards lay preacher. I have learned so much and am so happy I followed the call. I want to add that I am very grateful for the opportunity I was given and want to thank the diocese for all the help we were given. Thank you.

I had been a Worship Leader for many years and took some time for discernment. I wanted a deeper participation in church life. Becoming a Lay Preacher was a next step for me. I really appreciated the support shown to me by St. Luke's, the Episcopal Church in Delaware, my classmates, and the Stevenson School for Ministry throughout this process. Thank you!

I am a convert to the Episcopal Church and have been a member for the past 22 years, first at the Cathedral Church of St. John, and then at Calvary-Hillcrest. It has been a privilege and an honor for me to have served in a number of ministries over the years, including vestry, BCM council, lector, Eucharistic Assistant, Home Eucharistic Visitor, Lay Worship Leader, and occasionally as preacher. I wish to express my gratitude and appreciation to Calvary, the diocese, and my wife Diane Drummond, for the support I have received throughout this journey.
